Supplements

This was labeled "vitamins." I hope they are!
Bouncing off from yesterday's ramblings I have questions for all of you supplement takers . . .

Does it feel as though you have a mitt full of pills on the daily to take?

I've never been good at taking pills. My daughter Bella and I were talking the other day and she reminded me how she has always had a very hard time swallowing pills. I had forgotten she had the same problem!

When I was young, I would CHEW aspirin because I just couldn't swallow. Please no jokes  :)

I still have a level of difficulty today. But some of those damn things are crazy big!

Yuck

It's one of the reasons I'm not always the best about taking them.

I have them all organized in a large AM PM pill case. Yes, just like your Meemaw uses for all of her medications. Pup and I joke constantly about our geezer pill boxes. But we'd rather have supplements to take than be on lots of meds.

I think.

Ha!

What I'd like to hear from you guys is what are the tricks you use to actually TAKE your supplements? Pup is a morning guy. He can swallow a HANDFUL with water no problem. Not me. So he's a right-a-way-in-the-morning supplement taker.

I have some for the morning and some for the evening.

How do you guys approach this?

Hahaha, you gorgeous geezer you!

I'm with pup. Morning. Get it done while there are less distractions.

Look. The italicized syntax doesn't work using a mobile phone....mourning my separation from my laptop here... 😒

I, personally, use liquid drops for the supplements I take. Not only can I not swallow pills, but I don't want to have to rely on my gut for digesting them. However, drops make using a pill minder out of the question.

I take them in the morning. Can't stand the thought of drinking water right out of bed. Gave up the Diet Coke, so I've been using Crystal Lite to get them down.

I have to really concentrate when I take them or they get stuck in my throat and I gag them up. There is one in particular, a caplet, that I was breaking in half but it still got stuck. So now I'm breaking it in four pieces and take a big gulp and con-cen-traaaate. I can still feel the sucker catching on the way down. Ugh.

I have learned to take my pills with warn water, yes warm water your throat seems to relax and let the pills go down easier.
try it ?

I keep them on my nightstand so I can take them either right before sleeping or right before I get in the bed. It helps that I switched to gummies for some of them.

All of these are great suggestions! I'm using the warm water one and do find that opening up the throat nicely.

I haven't checked into the gummy versions though! I really should!
