Requisite Resolution Ramblings

Seriously? It's the end of the year? WTH happened. Wasn't it just August?

We are having a great winter season here so far. Lots and lots of snow. Very tricky to drive in and so lovely to look at. Even here in the city where I live it's lovely. The snow hides all the ick from everywhere.

I could list the crap I want to accomplish, I could list the crap I didn't accomplish. It's crap either way.

Who said this, "Don't say, do"? That's how I'm feeling. I'm not going to blah blah blah. Well, that's not true. I'll do plenty of that. Just not about resolutions.

But I have a few thoughts in my mind for change. I always do have those thoughts. Some work, some don't, but when you stop having those thoughts, that's when you're done. I don't want to ever be done! No matter how much I kick and scream, bitch and moan, gripe and grouse, complain and exclaim.

I did learn tons of crap this year.

1. I learned that my brain can still learn. Who knew?
2. I learned that sometimes you get a second chance.
3. I learned that if you don't use it, you really do lose it.
4. I learned that I never want to stop coloring my hair.
5. I learned that planning an addition is crazy-making fun.
6. I learned that I can be a force to be reckoned with.

What's to come.

1. Expand job search.
2. Rethink career goals.
3. Relax about the den. It will be fine. Big deal and quit second-guessing.
4. Eat better. (said every damn year - ha!)
5. Exercise more. (ditto)
6. Consider electro-shock therapy.

Alright! I feel cleansed!

What's going on in your resolution solutions?

I think I can agree with everything on your list, except the den. Our den is Done. Oh, and no electro-shock therapy, thank you.

I just hope this year I have the resolve to get it right. :-)

My goal is to become a renaissance man. I write (some ), poetry ( check ), draw (work in progress ), cook ( not to shabby ), bake ( enjoying the bread and cookies ), learn to ( paint or do sculpture ), gardening ( section picked out ), and something else when I have nothing else to do. Oh, and naps, must have more of them!

What awesome learning you did.

And that dog IS the cutest dog in the world!

I am only making a few resolutions this year:

To get my novel out there.

To take care of myself better.

To be kinder to the world.

No shock treatment necessary here. Just weight loss like the rest of America.

Keeping mine to just one, cuz it's a doozie....

Here's to no more stinky cigarettes, and the extra money I save is gonna buy me that stereo receiver I want so badly so I can play my music LOUD!

Oh and so we can keep HBO since our cable promotion ended :)

I'm definitely right there with you with #5 and #6! I want to lose 15 pounds in the next 3 months, but...I'm having a hard time doing what I need to do to make that happen. Love your list!

Excercise more? I hear that! That's on my list EVERY year! ;-)

Happy Thursday Darling! xo

Oh, and I'm having a perfume giveaway if you're interested!

I'm in for 1-6, but I'll leave out #3 because I've believed all along it's going to be fabulous (it WILL fit!)!

Sarah- just remember that Locks of Love is always taking donations :)

Ejoyed your list and agree that when you stop thinking of things you are done and that is no good at all

Not really any resolutions here, because I already know how long they will last, about 18 days. LOL

Good resolutions, I guess. You can replace shock therapy with drinking, though.

I'm making a resolution to not make any New Year's Resolutions. It's just easier that way because, knowing me, I'll have broken them by January 3rd...if not sooner.

Good post.

Honorable resolutions. Realistic. Keep that in mind, you!

Mine mirror some of yours:

Exercise more? Not an issue. Never has been. I'm an addict.

Eat better, wiser choices? Yes. That.

I've gotten sloppy. Game over.

New Year, new chapter.

I will be 10 lbs lighter by March 1st.

Cheers!
