Halloween

thatgirlisfunny.com
I am not a fan.

I don't like decorating Halloween.

I don't like wading through millions of spider webs every time I go shopping.

I don't like candy in the house. Note to self: do not buy Snickers. They are evil.

I don't like the slutty costumes. No woman over the age of 42, I don't care how hot you are, should be wearing Naughty Nurse Nancy costumes.

And guys, poking holes in a ziploc, placing it over your head, and calling yourself a condom isn't as clever as you think. I've seen this. Don't ask.

I do love the pumpkin scones at Starbucks. I do love the pumpkin-flavored lattes, pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie. LOVE all things pumpkin. I even look good in that color, if I wore color.

The weather here right now is crazy. I studied yesterday afternoon and it felt as if our house could become Dorothy's house at any moment. It was shaking and quaking. I'm seriously glad we had that ancient cottonwood tree removed or I may have had new greenery in our loft.

Right now I'm in the guest bedroom (still on the spare computer) and the wind is HOWLING around me. I can feel every crack and draft in this 100 year old house.

I seriously think that my lack of imagination right now is directly related to the computer I am using.

We have a Macbook, but I only like laptops for, well, my lap. Not as my real puter. So I'm on the spare PC. It's an ugly thing. Clumsy keyboard and horrible presentation. It's hard to think on this computer. And I do my homework on this computer. I am having a hard time splitting the two. Imagination and homework.

I had an appointment with the Apple docs yesterday, but the rain was whipping and the wind was blowing and I couldn't figure out how to get the damn thing from my car into the mall without dying. So I rescheduled. Yes, I am a wimp.

How you doin'?

You really wanna know?

My back is complaining, my acid reflux is kicking it up, I'm feeling my age.. and I hate sounding like THAT.

and I love Halloween (I'm sorry) I don't wear costumes that are too young for me, however. :-)

I wondered if you had gotten a taste of our hurricane winds in your area, that answered my question, gusts of 81 miles an hour. I am way past Halloween, kids grown up and such. My evil candy is the little Butterfingers!

Karen - Yes I do want to know! And I'm the one that's weird - everyone loves Halloween. I don't know why I don't!

RJ - Yes! The winds here are strong. I think the gusts are 70 mph or thereabouts. And continuous. It's really horrible. Couple it with temps in the 30s and it's not a lovely day, but expected around these parts. Oh the sadness!

Heff LOVES Halloween. (mostly for the horror movies)

Heff - I know, it's shameful. Everyone loves Halloween.

I'm not fond of Halloween either. Don't decorate. My least favorite color is orange cuz it reminds me of Halloween. I hate spiders. I don't like to be scared. We don't get any kids trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. It's a non-holiday to me.

i love the description of the wind and your house. it's actually really windy here too today, probably the first time this season, so it's perfect timing. all the windchimes are going cuckoo and the plants are blowing back and forth.

but i'm sure it's still warm enough for every girl in sight to be wearing big, warm, fuzzy uggs with little tiny denim skirts. ugh.

Don't forget you did a good deed & picked up your D1 at the bus stop to prevent her from walking 6 long blocks in the cold & windy weather when she was sick!

This is why the Momma rules.

I would be in a funk too if anything happened to my mac or as I call it, my beloved.

I do like Halloween. It's one of the few holidays that doesn't give me angst. I like no pressure holidays like that. And I love everything pumpkin. And caramel. And candy corn. I just love Halloween.

Shoot! There goes my Halloween. ; )

Seriously, I hate the holiday. Like Christmas (which I'm also not a fan of), it's for kids.

How am I doing this week? Not great. I'm on antibiotics (4x a day) and pain meds (3x a day), requiring a LOT of water, therefore I'm staying close to home. lol!

Sounds like you're getting the weather was had over the weekend. It hardly rained here. Enjoy! : )

deb - I like 'spice,' but not orange. ;)

Lucky Gun - I know! The windchimes! I need to bring them in . . . blech!

Sarah - I love my baby-girl. Of course I picked you up! Any time btw. No nos ever.

Joann - Caramel! Mmmmm . . .

J.J. - hugs girl. Cozy it up at home with something fun.

I don't like Halloween either. Don't like the "ghosts/witches/evil/gore" stuff, never have. BUT I do love pumpkins and all things pumpkin flavored, and fall is by far my favorite season...

BUT... I DO love costumes and costume parties, just not "about" Halloween themes. I prefer funny stuff. DEFINITELY funny stuff.

I don't decorate for Halloween with gore and scary stuff, just -- you guessed it, pumpkins, mums, scarecrows, typical "autumn" theme stuff.

And as for the candy--I buy what I don't like and it's less tempting. Let kids have their Halloween...it's fun for them.

But nah...personally, I'll pass.

I agree. Snickers are a tool of the devil.
