DISHES!
I really really really really wanted that first set. He had pieces I had never seen before. This guy is a nut on his pricing though. So sadly, yet happily, I left all these sets with him.
Love the lines of these chairs. Pup thinks I have a chair addiction. Umm, yep?
And a lamp addiction. These are awesome, but maybe even a bit too crazy even for me. Not loving them for The Pit anyway.
Aaaaaah - lovely, lovely Credenza. I want you so.
This is Credenza's brother. He will come along for nearly nothing. If nothing is $400 anyway.
I was the only customer in this store. Yes, it was snowing and yes, it was a Tuesday, but this man was crazy on his pricing for real. I picked up a lovely and colorful vase that was buried in the pile of unwalkable store, asked the price ('cuz nothing was marked) and he said, "$65 - it's from Italy."
I didn't know Italy shot out rainbows from their arse. But I'm sure Italy thinks they do.
Credenza is calling me though. And her stylish brother.

have a happy anniversary!
Great looking credenza! Oh, and those dishes in the top photo... very atomic/George Jetson looking.. HA HA.
Di
over here i'd call that a "vintage store". -which means they overprice everything bc they've taken the time to weed out the boring shit. and they think their precious time equals upping the price by 500%
thrift stores have more junk, but they're way more affordable.
oh yeah- and our dish set seems to have been a very popular style!
Thrifting may take longer, may require multiple stops at multiple locations, but you can find just the thing that you didn't know you were looking for ;-)
happy Blogoversary!... and those dishes and those lamps and the credenza are SOOOOOOO you.
Go back and make an offer. Whadaya got to lose?
Congrats on the anniversary! As for those lamps - very crazy indeed!
Yeah, I don't get peopl's pricing either. I went thrift storing, but accidentally walked into "antique" stores, which basically had the same stuff, just $500 more. I love those first dishes too. Everything is so retro.
Happy Blogiversary!!!
Those types of stores scare me. I'm like a bull in a china shop. lol!
Happy 2 year, my sweetness!
Guess what? My sis, Kelly, has that first set of dishes. They were our aunts. So stinking cool.
