Overheard

Overheard while at the Target.

Deborah, could you please help me unload this cart?

A mom to her little girl. The little girl was about nine. Nine! You just don't see my name out there any more. Kinda went by the wayside like Ethyl or Mabel.

I confess, I totally swung my head around 'cuz I thought she was talking to me.

Mine was more common, too, back in the day... when moonshine and Model T's were popular. Very few would opt for it nowadays and I can't say I blame them.

When's the last time you met a baby named Karen? Exactly.

I usually turn around when I hear-
"Hey YOU"!

Oh, Happy Belated Anniversary and Birthday. FYI: you just got older.

The same way with me. There are no more Joann's in the world, not that there were a lot of us, in the first place. It'll be great when the nursing homes are filled with Britneys and Heathers, won't it?

I thought she was talking to you too. LOL!

Danielle has become more common but as a kid I didn't know another Danielle until I was eleven.

My daughter's name isn't popular anymore...Evelyn. I like the classics.

Ms A - Bonnie? Is that you?

Karen - That true isn't it!

B-man - Thank you for the reminder! btw - it's not older, it's better. In my head baby, in my head.

JM - Seriously! Although, all my life I was called Debi. I always thought that would be a ridiculous name when I was 50. It is.

Danielle - Evelyn! That's beautiful!

J.J. - Yes! Another good one.

Empress - Your name is regal yes?

RJ - Helen! That's a lovely name though.

Marnie - My momma's name was Marlene and when she was a young 'un her friends called her Marnie.

Lucky Gun - Sasha is a great name.
