Sunday in the Jungle

Yep. It's true.

It's 98 degrees today. Heat index 116. Dew point at 81. This is the WEIRDEST summer. I'm BUMMED a bit because when you go outside you are heat-blasted. I have been in the house all day today!

And the thought of working tomorrow in the non-air conditioned Cave makes me cry. I think I'll hang out in the office and only go cave-dwelling when absolutely necessary. SIGH
Cutest two cats in the world. I think Deekers (on right) looks just like Stan Laurel. It's a weird comparison, but I'm weird.

Best dinner in the world. I thought I died and went to Grok heaven.

Cutest dog in the world wants a bite. I shared. You know I'm nice. Sometimes.

Georgie can melt even the coldest of hearts. He's had a rough weekend since he had to stay indoors as well. That just about kills him. And there were storms Friday night and Saturday night. He's very afraid of storms.

Give him a little hug my hooches, but don't feel too sorry for him, he had lots of wonderful beef fat for dessert.

Smooches.

I always find it hard to imagine there are places without AC. I'd never make it in Texas without it.

I have to admit, I stared at the plate of food for a LONG time because I couldn't tell what it was.

Glad to read it's beef!

I grew up without air conditioning and we have lived for the last 28 years without it but when hubby heard the prognosis of a week of high temps he broke down and got one for the bedroom. He works in an un-air conditioned factory on machines that run at 500 degrees or something. It does make sleeping possible, but neither of us really like it and it will be turned off as soon as this heat wave passes.

Our windows have condensation on them! But it's lovely and we even got the upstairs to cool down enough to sleep up there last night.

Saw the CUTEST female pit bull this weekend, white and fawn like George but spotted like a cow. She was the tiniest pitbull I ever saw, just petite and a lover-girl. Made me want to come home & steal George from you.

Georgie is too adorable for words. And Fifty hates the heat too! He HATES it! He stays in the coolest spot in the house (under the stairs) all summer
