Hot Enough for Ya?

Weird right?

Those of you that live here know this to be true; those of you that live elsewhere and have thoughts about Minnesota, I'm guessing you can throw them out of your window. If your windows were open.

This is me. This is me in traffic. This is me in traffic with the top of my Jeep, Ruby, UP! This is me amazed at how high that temperature gauge went yesterday. It eventually read 107. I don't think it was actually 107, but I do think it hit 102 yesterday.

HOT AT HELL PEEPS!

No wonder we're so aggressive on the roads (Minnesota drivers are in the top five of angry drivers). The roads are either ice and snow covered and treacherous, or they're buckling under extreme heat.

It's weird here.

I swear, if it weren't for the weather, I really don't know what we'd do for small talk. I spent many hours yesterday at my doctor's offices (waiting - testing - waiting - testing - talking - waiting - testing) and the general topic I heard was about the weather. What else are you going to talk about in the 30 seconds it takes to have the nurse get you from the waiting room and plop you wherever it is they plop you?

And get this - our peonies just bloomed. Because our spring is so late. Nothing like throwing us directly into the deep end of the pool. The few flowers I have were very sad looking yesterday. I ran around watering some of them, but it was so god-awful I had to flee. This is when I truly envy my BFF that lives in a small town in Wisconsin on a lovely lake. Never horrible there. Always lovely. Except in the winter. And except it's not The Cities. I do love the cities. But I love the lake.

As Pup would say, "What a whiner!"

I can take the heat... just don't give me humidity along with it.

Until Vegas I didn't realize there WAS such a thing as "dry heat". Days like yesterday make me glad I'm a girl because then I can get away with wearing skirts w/out pantyhose so I don't melt completely away.

Our peonies haven't bloomed yet, and only one of our tulips did :(

Yes, it's beautiful on the lake, and usually about 10-degrees cooler than in town. I know it's hard to believe but we don't have AC! Ceiling fans, floor fans, usually a good breeze coming from the south. There are only 5-6 days a summer that we could really use it. I try not to complain about the heat because, when you live in the north, the alternative is winter.

Positively dreadful here, too! I'm melting. We finally got a tiny sprinkle for a few minutes, yesterday. Don't even get me going on humidity! There's never a good hair day... ever.

Holy Cow, woman, I'm jealous! It was 65 and overcast here today. So. Californians call it "June Gloom". I call it "#*$&#$% #$*@$&*%!!!"

HAHAHA! You crack up up, hon!

It gets hot there?? I imagine it snowing there year-round. Ha! Okay, you can sympathize with the Texas heat. I think it registered 107 the other day.

107.

Yuck.

You're in Minnesota? I'm not that far from you, a mere 6-8 hour drive. And yet, our summer/heat only started a couple days ago, and it's still nothing to take pictures of.

As we are in winter here with very low temperatures (for Melbourne) and a heating system that isn't working, I do envy you the heat! Hope you keep your cool though cos it can't be too wonderful.

We got a few really hot days, but now it's in the 60's. For me perfect weather would be in the 70's.

Hi Debbie! Not sure I know how to use this site! The sun just peeked out in Idaho and you can see the mountains! Linn and Matt left yesterday about 1 p.m. and we miss them already. It was a great time with them here. Love you both! MOM BEE

Deborah, it surprises me to know that you have WARM weather extremes there. Hmmm. Not good. I can relate to the whining about weather thing. It's on the top of my favorite things to whine about, considering I'm rather heat intolerant-- "humid heat" intolerant.

By the way, seeing the reference to the peonies...my eldest son, when I told him how it's pronounced, said it sounds like someone with a southern accent stating the name "Penny." LOL He's RIGHT!
