Today, I've been spinning my wheels, running on empty, chasing a high, and any other schlocky cliche you can think of. A fretful, unproductive day.
Got me thinking.
If we are so busy worrying about perfection. Worrying about 100 percent, or the best, or the thinnest, or the cutest, or the smartest what is happening right now that we're not paying attention to? What flavor? What sensation? What touch, look, thought, feeling haven't I really tasted today?
When my darling Sarah Bella was little I walked her down our driveway so she could ride her bike over to her best friend's house down the street. I wanted to watch.
She took off, her hair bouncing back and forth, little legs peddling away. An ordinary happening that is a forever kind of memory for me. I wish I had millions of them. How many have I missed?
What did you miss today?

I'm guilty missing life and trying to remember to enjoy it, while I have the chance.
If she remembers also, those are the best kind, ones that are shared.
Good question! Has me thinking...
Hi Deborah, I fear that I too have missed too many precious moments while chasing paychecks and sleeping.
I came to you from Blases's blog today, he said he saw you and Christine, and me in the book store being naughty!
Secretia
Yup, I spend too much time worrying about the excess 30 pounds, my flat hair, if people like me, whether I'm saving enough $$ for retirement -- so I just forget to enjoy life. How to change it???
I know right?
We need to simply be aware of the moment. Feel the moment. Taste the moment. Push that other crap out right?
Right now I'm in my head thinking of what I'm typing. Listening to the clicking of the keys. Swishing the water I just glugged. Etc.
Moments for me! Moments!
I remember picking bunches and bunches of dandelions in the front yard and presenting them in my little grubby paws to Momma...and feeling so happy when you were so appreciative and put them in the beautiful white bowl with the dark blue stripes.
They are just weeds, but you made them seem more worthy than the most expensive purebred roses.
My moments for today...smelling that beautiful clean rain smell and enjoying the yard now peeking out from underneath the snow cover.
You could quit wasting time blogging and find out, lol !!!
You, my darling Heff, are a point-misser.
TK - I love you.
